If the entire distribution reported on Form 1099-SA was used to pay for qualified medical expenses, then amending your return will not change your bottom line refund or balance due. There would be no changes reported on the amended return.

If the distribution was not used to pay for medical expenses, then an amended return would definitely be required since the distribution would then be taxable.

Instead of amending, keep the Form 1099-SA with your tax records along with any documentation showing that the distribution was used for paying medical expenses. That way, if the IRS ever questions why it was not on your return you will be ready to respond.

See the following TurboTax article for more information: Do I need to amend?
