I just start to amend my 2020 tax return because I received a corrected 1099-DIV. The corrected ordinary dividend and qualified dividend amount is 25 dollars less. I have not entered anything yet, the amendment process says I will get a refund of 77 dollars, after I finished the process, it says I will get 85 dollars refund. Is this amendment process right with a refund 77 dollars to begin with? I have tried several times, they all start with 77 dollars to begin with. how do I force the amendment process start with 0 amount? Very frustrated! Please help!

always make a hard copy of your entire filed tax return before you try to amend.

That's the only way you can know if your amendment 1040-X is correct.

if you did not make a paper copy before you e-Filed., that may no longer be possible.

As we speak TurboTax updates are changing everybody's tax return.
