The IRS has said you will not have to pay back any third stimulus money that you received by mistake if the amount is greater than what you should have been credited.

If you received too much stimulus based on your actual 2020 income you will not have to pay it back through a tax return in the upcoming filing season, just like the first stimulus payment.

Note: The stimulus payments are not taxable to you.
