To receive your first and/or second stimulus payments, you need to file your 2020 tax return and claim the Recovery Rebate credit.

In TurboTax Online, to claim the Recovery Rebate credit please do the following:

Sign into your account and continue from where you left off
Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Federal Review on the top of the screen
On the next page titled Let's make sure you got the right stimulus amount, click on Continue
Follow the interview
TurboTax will determine whether you are entitled to any additional stimulus
Any stimulus amount remaining due to you will show as a credit on line 30 of your form 1040.

What if I have already filed my 2020 taxes? is there anyway I can still claim my previous stimulus checks?

If your tax return does not reflect a recovery rebate credit on line 30 of your form 1040, the IRS may pay it to you anyways. If not, then you can prepare an amended return in TurboTax to change the original return so that your recovery rebate credit will show on the amended return. Then, you will get the payment after you file the amended return.

The amended return routine will be available on your home page in TurboTax soon.
