NOTE: You didn't say if you have already filed or not. If you haven't actually filed at all, you can still change it. If you haven't filed, we can tell you how to open your return and make the change. I see you mentioned 3/25/2021. That's only for amended returns and not used for this reason. Did you click on the "Amend" link by mistake?

So you chose to receive a Federal refund by paper check in the mail?

Did you already efile, and if so, has your efiled return already been accepted?

If your originally efiled return was accepted, there is no way to change the choice of refund method from paper check to direct deposit. You do NOT prepare an amended return for that reason. In fact amended returns do not even allow for direct deposit of any refund anyway.

If you recently efiled, and if your return is rejected, however, then you can make whatever changes you want before you resubmit.

See the info I left you above. We don't know what options you have until you report whether you have already filed or not. If you haven't already filed, you can change the choice of refund method. If your return interview is closed, we can tell you the proper way to get back to the return interview.
