E-filing for 2019 returns has been closed permanently since October of 2020. Since then the only way to file a 2019 return was by mail. TurboTax does not mail your return for you. You have to print it, sign it in ink and mail it in yourself. If you did not do that --- then your 2019 return was not filed at all.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

A 2019 tax return filed in December of 2020 could only have been completed and filed using the TurboTax desktop editions for tax year 2019.

The TurboTax online edition are Only for tax year 2020 and you could not have e-filed a tax return in December of 2020 since e-filing was not available for the 2020 tax year until January 6, 2021.

To complete and file a 2019 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the 2019 desktop editions from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2019 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.
