My return is accepted and approved but has no record on irs where’s my refund

Turbo tax has approved my state and federal tax return however I search my state and it shows up and it’s pending in my account for payment but the federal there is no record of filing on turbo tax , I get a message when tracking it on turbo tax that says “looks like you haven’t filed yet “ but I indeed filed and have an amount expected back . I am lost and confused it’s been 22 days since can someone help ?

First, TT does not Accept or Approve refunds. Only the IRS and State can do that. TT sends you an email once the government has Accepted your filing for processing. Approved is a later step, and then Refund Sent or Issued is an even later one.

TT refund dates are just estimates, based on the usual IRS goal of 21 days. But it is taking longer this year, due to all the extra stimulus filings and a remaining backlog in processing 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown. In addition, IRS Where's My Refund site has been erratic and unreliable.

However, if TT told you your return was Accepted, then the IRS has it for processing. Once that happens, TT receives no further updates, and the IRS has been imploring taxpayers not to call. So please continue to be patients, as lots of folks are waiting. Also see:
