You can check the status of your federal refund at Where’s My Refund? If it has been more than 21 days since your e-filed return was accepted, you can call the IRS directly at 1-800-829-1040 to check on your refund status.

When dialing the 800 number. I constantly get a message stating that "Your call cannot be completed at this time"
