What should I expect after I validate my identity?

It says that processing could take 9 weeks, is that accurate?

Why would I need to verify my identity and why would it take 9 weeks to process if I successfully validated my identity? @Cass0317

@Dougp510 In terms of the 9 weeks, that is just the guideline set forth by the IRS for that process. The following are 2 excerpts from the IRS website:

If you didn’t file an income tax return for the year above, it is important to let us know on the website above immediately and confirm that you may be victim of identity theft to stop further fraudulent activities.

IF YOU DID FILE: Contact us through the website above - we just need more information from you to verify your identity and process your income tax return, issue a refund, or apply the overpayment to your next year’s estimated tax.
