Amended 2018 Return - Cannot change efile status

I am trying to amend my 2018 return, which was originally e-filed.

When I attempt to amend the return, I receive the following message: "To move on, you must choose either E-file or File by mail for at least one of your returns."

When I try to change the filing method on my federal return, I receive the following message: "File by mail is not available because you have selected to pay balance due with direct debit. If you want to file by mail, you must go back and choose a different method to pay your taxes."

My question is, how/where can I change my method of payment for an amendment? I have been up and down the return and cannot identify where this setting is located.

The best way to e-file your 2018 return, since you are having this issue, would be to download your tax file and the Turbotax 2018 Desktop Software.
