You do not need to amend the state return. The 1095A does not affect the state. When you amend the federal, just add the 1095A information in the Health Insurance section. If you received a letter from the IRS, make sure it doesn't state that you should not amend. Follow what the letter says.

Just send the 1040X.

Thanks, that is good news. So I just print and mail in the amended Federal return with the 1095-a details filled in and no additional printed forms needed?

And good news that adding 1095-a doesn’t impact State return, but if I already clocked through to amend State return then what do I do next there?
