The IRS is not accepting any 2020 tax returns until February 12, 2021

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return.
Thank you for replying. This is the 1st time I'm using mailing option , I always file electronically but this year, I am currently on deployment. I was even lucky to be able to file with the horrible internet we have . the problem is I couldn't find my last year AGI to choose the electronic option that's why I chose mailing. I tried to contact IRS to get my last year AGI for 2weeks with no success.

I finally was able to get my AGI from last year and I electronically submitted my return on the 15th . yesterday (the 21st) I saw on my Navy Federal, the payment was pending and will be available on the 24th. So less than 10 days after submission.

The Maximum time is 21 days (for electronic submission + direct deposit option) but it never takes that long.

The IRS states that they issue most refunds in less than 21 calendar days from the date the return was accepted by the IRS. This is in a normal year and is a target only--not a guarantee.

It can take anywhere from a few hours to 3 weeks for the IRS to officially accept your return and then your information should show in the Refund tool within 24 hours of acceptance.

You can check the status of your refund by going to the IRS Refunds page. You can click on the Check My Refund Status link or download the IRS2Go app for your mobile device. Wait at least 24 hours after your return has been accepted

You don't need to prepare a Tennessee tax return because that state does not require you to file a tax return.

You can use this IRS tool to check on the status of your refund:
