I mailed my tax return on May 3rd. I havent seen or heard anything. How long should I wait.

You can begin checking the status of your mailed return 4 weeks after mailing it by visiting the Where’s My Federal Refund? tool. You may also download the IRS2Go app to check your Federal refund status. You will need your social security number, filing status, and refund amount in order to track your Federal refund.

IRS estimates that most refunds will be sent within 21 days or less. There's no way of knowing exactly when the IRS will update to refund sent. You will need to keep checking the Where’s My Federal Refund? tool for updates. Updates are made daily, usually overnight.
