If you had no income at all for the entire year, you are not required to file a tax return.

However, if you received Advance Premium Tax Credit for medical insurance from the Marketplace (Obamacare), you must file a tax return, even if you had no income. If you get a Form 1095-A, that means you got Advance Premium Tax Credit and you must file a tax return.

and if you believe you did not receive all the stimulus you are entitled to, you must file to claim it.
