The IRS is still working through millions of paper filings. if it hasn't been entered into their computer system calling anyone at the IRS will likely be a waste of time since they can only answer questions as to its status if it has. you are literally in the Twilight Zone. if they have it and you send in a second copy it could further delay your refund. if it got lost since you apparently didn't use a service where you could track it, there's no way to find this out.

I suggest you call to find out what they say and ask what you should do or risk it and send in a second copy but make sure you use a tracking system. it could take 2 months or more for this return to get processed even longer if they have the original return.

If the IRS has resumed processing, they must have opened returns filed in February , I would think.

From the other threads here it sounds like some departments that gotten at least into June/July. For those who have unresolved returns this old usually means a letter was sent out but they did not get it due to an old or incorrect address. Best thing they can do is talk to the IRS or a Taxpayer Advocate.

another possibility was that it was lost in the mail. did you use a tracking service? if not call the IRS
