You must have a copy of the original tax return you want to update.

The simplest way is to prepare your correct tax return (using TurboTax for example, or other means) and print it.

This step you have just completed.

Then lay the paper printouts of both returns (correct and original) side-by-side.
You now have all the information needed to prepare Form1040X by hand.
It's pretty straight-forward.

The blank form in fillable PDF format and its instructions are available at www.irs.gov.
Mail to the same address you would mail your original tax return.

I filed my initial return in June.

This month I received more K1 statements that need to be filed.

I tried to open the original return, but the file was corrupted. Turbotax was unable to help me and said I would have to reenter all data. I have now created a new return with the K1 info, but how do I file it as an amended return, since Turbotax is treating it as a new return that has not been filed yet?

Always print a copy of your completed tax return for your records, and review it carefully before e-Filing.
You will need it if you are audited by the IRS, or to amend if a TurboTax update changes your return or for any other reason.
AND, to find your AGI next year.
