I filed my return in April 2020. After 23 weeks it finally showed up on irs.gov. It says they cannot process the return and I need to call. However, all phone numbers I tried said they weren't taking calls and hung up. It's been about 25 weeks now. Should I just wait? Or, is there a person or service that can help me?

**Update: I couldn't get through. Their automated system prompted me to leave a voicemail, but from their menu options, it sounded like I should just wait longer.

IRS has probably not even looked at your amended return yet.

This is for an amended return mailed in April. Their online system says they received the amended return on May 1st, and that I must call them. But I can't get an answer.
