This is the only question that I can see that you have asked in this community forum (at least with that profile name), and I don't understand the question.

I can't tell with certainty if you are trying to get a copy of your 2018 online return you filed last year, or if you are wanting to prepare a 2018 return (which cannot be done online, but requires desktop software.)

What exactly are you needing to do? What do you mean by "a form that you can open? "

If you filed a 2018 return with Online TurboTax last year, are you trying to get the 2018 PDF to open in a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader? Or are you trying to get the *.tax2018 data file to open in installed 2018 software?

We can tell you how to get a prior online return. Or are you downloading the file and can't open it? If so, what type of file? Is your PDF file being downloaded erroneously as a .txt file (Edge browser can sometimes do that). If so, we can tell you what to do.

If you can't get the side menus to open up to access the prior year..... You need to start entering some basic Personal Info in 2021 for the side menu to open up. Just continue a little ways into 2021.

If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online. So you need to make and keep your own backups.
