did dad file a non-filers return to get stimulus? if so, that's the return he was claimed on. someone could have mistyped a SSN on their return or the son's SSN could be stolen. In any event, as of now all dad can do is paper file. The assumption is that dad tried to e-file and was rejected. the other possibility if dad didn't yet tried to file is that the son doesn't qualify as a dependent or dad answered a question concerning dependency status incorrectly. we can't see the return.

I'm trying to see why my son's father can't claim him for 2019 returns when I didn't claim him. He did his returns and its saying he can't claim him because he's already been claimed.
