Hi,

I am preparing the state amendment package but not sure about which documents need to be included in terms of 1040x.

Turbotax PDF automatically included the year 2018 1040 with the corrected amount in the state amendment section. But we file only 1040x for IRS and I thought I just include 1040x.

What is the purpose of this corrected 1040? Just for our reference purpose to see how the correct figures fill the 1040?

It is a reference, but you do need to send it with your amendment.

Oh no, I only mailed 1040x form.

I guess I will receive the request letter for additional doc but I wonder I can already mail in because

it took 10 days to get to the IRS office in CA from HI because of Covid.

Is there any particular rule to send additional documents to file after you mailed in 1040x, before receiving a letter from IRS? I searched a bit but could not find any...
