I am a U.S. citizen living abroad and have a foreign income.

I earned less than 30,000 usd.

I am filing as Head of household because spouse is not a U.S. citizen.

U.S citizens abroad have to file via the paper method.

Since I pay tax in another country and make less than 100,000 I have no tax liability to U.S. because I qualify for foreign earned income credits.

I think I am not required to file since I make less than 100,000 in foreign income.. so maybe I can use the non-filing link?

I have read an article stating that all paper filed taxes will not be process and are being stowed away for now as a way to prevent spreading of the virus.. and rightly so.

irs.gov does not have my current DD info or my mailing address because my 2019 filing is still not processed..

My question is what are my options for getting help updating my info in order to get the stimulus?

The IRS is no longer sending out checks for the first and second stimulus payments. You will have to file a 2020 income tax return to claim them, even if you normally do not file.

The missing amounts will be added to your refund as a Recovery Rebate Credit.

The third stimulus is based on 2020 information. If the IRS does not have 2020 information, it will use 2019 information.

Generally, if you were a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien in 2020, were not a dependent of another taxpayer and have a Social Security number that is valid for employment, you are eligible for the Recovery Rebate Credit. Your credit amount will be reduced if your adjusted gross income (AGI) is more than:

$150,000 if married and filing a joint return or filing as a qualifying widow or widower

$112,500 if filing as head of household or

$75,000 for eligible individuals filing as a single or as married filing separately.

Your payment will be reduced by 5% of the amount by which your AGI exceeds the applicable threshold above.

**Say "Thanks" by clicking the thumb icon in a post
