Do I send in my amended taxes even though I did not send in my original yet? I recently did my taxes and noticed that there were some mistakes so I amended them.

I chose to amend my taxes because I did not see a edit button anywhere. After I finished everything I noticed the mistakes because I have to mail in my taxes myself and cannot efile.

It is not an Amended return if there was never an original return filed.

If you have a 1040X disregard it and only send the correct copy of the 1040 that will be right behind the 1040X.

Also attache the W-2's and any other documents that have Federal or State taxes withheld.
