Why did Turbotax charge me for my state tax payment of $5 when they showed it would be $0? I filed free with Turbo tax. At the end of filing, my Turbotax showed $0 for filing and my state tax showed $0, no charge.

How much were you charged? Why do think the charge is for filing your state taxes?

Sign in to TurboTax
Select "Add a State" (We're not really adding anything, just opening the menu).
Select Tax Tools on the left side of the screen.
Select Tools
A Tools Center box will pop up.
Select the My Fees box.

You can take a screenshot and print for your records, as your receipt.
