Why has the federal tax filing deadline not been updated in the program It was extended to July 15.

That decision to change the dates the tax returns can be filed and when taxes have to be paid was only made 2 and 3 days ago. It takes time to update the software for the desktop and online editions across all the platforms for personal, professional and business software. The software will be updated as soon as possible.

so I need to just keep trying to file hoping the date is corrected for federal while state filling is still 4-15?

The TurboTax software for the new filing and tax payments dates for a federal tax return up through July 15, 2020 has been released.
