I have to respond to an Audit by a certain date, does anyone know if it is close of business on that date or is it by the start of that date. For example, if it said 22 March would it be by close of business 22 March or by 21 March?

In your example, it would by close of business on March 22.

I was worried about the same thing. So I called the IRS and the girl told me you actually have 45 days and then they will send you another notice granting more time and again after that more time to work with them on the issue.
