Filing an amended Return

When I completed an amended return (I was missing a 1099), TurboTax filed an electronic state return, but did not show any action for the federal return. I now owe money to the feds, so I want to be sure the amended return was filed. Should I be concerned?

Amended returns can only be mailed. It is suggested that it be mailed certified with return receipt (or other tracking service) to verify that the IRS receives it.

You can check the status of the amended return here, but allow 3 weeks after mailing.
