When this happens and the IRS can fix the error without needing any further information from the taxpayer they fix it. It's usually something very minor that doesn't affect the refund amount. Now it just states my refund is being processed and a date will be posted once available BUT...... I checked my TRANSCRIPT, and it has been saying nothing until TODAY on 2/21. It now has a REFUND DATE OF 2/26 on my TRANSCRIPT. Same thing happened last year. It was on my transcript before showing up on the WMR page. SO I will have my money on 2/26 because last year the date it said on my transcript was the day it went into my bank account!! So I HIGHLY recommend checking transcript if your WMR doesn't change.
Fri, 21 Feb 2020 14:16:45 GMT https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/after-you-file/discussion/re-refund/01/1200263#M268357 shawnakuri 2020-02-21T14:16:45Z Re: Refund https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/after-you-file/discussion/re-refund/01/1200296#M268371
Okay so im curious.. Can someone post a link to these sources that are saying EITC claimers will recieve their refund by the 22nd because today is the 21st and i have yet to recieve my refund or a DDD. I was told that WMR would Update the status (with DDD) for EITC claimers by the 22 not that we would get our return. I keep seeing people saying we will receive them by or on the 22nd but the 22nd is a Saturday and banks dont deposit on weekends. So can someone post a link to the article that they found saying we should receive refunds by then. I filed the 22nd of Jan. and was accepted the 25th of Jan even though they didnt open till the 27th which i thought was odd .
Fri, 21 Feb 2020 14:22:57 GMT https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/after-you-file/discussion/re-refund/01/1200296#M268371 bway1211 2020-02-21T14:22:57Z Re: Refund https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/after-you-file/discussion/re-refund/01/1200421#M268427
OK, so nothing has changed on my WMR, but my transcripts now have a refund date of 2/26!
Ok I E-filed and IRS accepted it on the 1/22/20 I thought was wired because they said they was not a accepting until the 27th. I looked at where’s my refund on the 1/25/20 it had one bar said was accepted. On 2/5/20 it went to the PATH act and stayed like that until 2/16/20 Message changed to we received your refund and is processing no bars nothing. My turbo tax says refund expected on 2/12/20 obviously that didn’t happen been way past 21 days. Has anyone else have this problem?

Today marks the 21st day since my return was accepted so I guess I'll check again by the end of the day.. if not idk what's going on... smh

Thank you Critter for the clear grammatical explanation of what’s going on with Federal/State tax refunds. I guess the prolonged process has everyone on edge but I now understand. I’ve had the same issue as most and I didn’t read a post where someone admitted to filing EITC/the other one lol but I did so now I can stop checking every morning because it’s only updated once overnight and just wait until after the 22nd of February. I filed February 3rd and compared to previous taxes within 2 weeks I had a refund date but new year new process I suppose. #itiswhatitis The government won’t speed things up for us no matter how bad we need it. Hopefully by next week we are surprised with Direct Deposit Dates!!!!

If they accepted it on 1/22/20, it has not been over 21 days. Actually, today is about the 20th day because you don't count weekends or holidays; this past Monday was a holiday. Next, IRS usually updates the where's my refund only once a week on Wednesday. IRS generally makes return deposits on Wednesday's and Friday's. Also, sometimes the app says it is still processing but the refund is already in your account. Finally, the IRS did state that if you are filing earned income credit or child care credit you may not receive your refund until the first week of March but in the past it would come at the end of February.

I have same issue. I submitted Jan 25, said it was accepted. It shoed in the IRS tracker as accepted. I checked to see on Feb 17 and there was no tracker and said it was still processing. Last year it took 1 week. I already received my state refund that I had to wait an additional week to file. Those took a only a week to get. My daughter's birthday is Feb 29, it comes once every 4 years, I was counting on that money for our trip to Disneyland. All is paid for except $1200 for passes. I'm worried.

TT I think should update their software for Eitc and actc filers.. This year has been super irritating because although we have submitted our returns early because of the hold all filers who claimed credit tax returns did not begin processing until February 15th.. Factoring a holiday and weekends it just seems like a looooong drawn out process. Now hopefully the benefit of filing early and being accepted early should result in our returns who are claiming credits to be processed first along with DD first. Patience is a virtue but in due time this too shall pass! Stay positive everyone😘

I talked to a woman at the IRS today because my status was stuck on "Still being processed" she checked on my return and there was a slight error. When this happens and the IRS can fix the error without needing any further information from the taxpayer they fix it. It's usually something very minor that doesn't affect the refund amount. However, it does make your return go back to the beginning of the process. It can take 8 weeks for the return to be approved when this happens. But with early filers the delay is usually only a couple weeks.

I feel relieved with this information. If a return is pulled for review or they need additional information you will know within 2 weeks either by letter or by "Where's My Refund?"

Whoever you spoke with should have been very detailed about what the error was on your return because I was told the irs does not correct returns the taxpayer has to amend the return..

I filed on 1/29 and had one bar until 2/18.

You can go to the irs webpage and request an online copy but your identity has to be verified through sources such as student loans acct numbers, auto loans acct numbers, home equity line of credit and credit card numbers.. It will tell you everything when you go to the weppage ang search transcripts.. I tried it but I dont have my acct info foe my car loan and I have student loans but you have to get that from the fafsa website. It will give you the name of your loans holder and you go from there

Most of what you said is incorrect. WMR is updated daily. Checks are sent out daily, but big batches are done Monday and Thursday. You do count weekends. You just do not count Federal Holidays.

I've filed with turbotax the past 8 years no issues . This is the first year anything has been late. If you claim children or earned income that is the delay . The delay is not from turbo tax .... they are not the IRS they are simply a means of filing. Bet if you had used HR Block you would be in the same predicament.
