I was not told I need to pay any taxes and my bank account was charged 404 dollers

Did you see "tax due" and misunderstand, thinking it was a refund? Look at your Form 1040. Is there an amount on line 23? That means you owe. Sometimes we see people who misunderstand and think they are entering a bank account for a direct deposit and they are mistakenly authorizing a debit out of their account to pay tax they owe.

No my line 23 was blank
