Don't get audit defense! i now find out that if you add this to your return turbo tax will not help and it always has the irs audit my returns! not only that turbo tax messed up and e filed my fed return and readjusted without me knowing, i was supported to get my returned on 02/25/2020 and i did receive my state but no federal taxes. i didn't need self employed added to my return and both software i got charged!!!

Audit Defense is a third-party, commercial service that will represent you if auditing. Purchasing audit defense in advance gives you representation at a lower price than if you were to contact an accountant after getting an audit notice. Audit defense is not a promise that you won’t be audited, and is not a promise that the refund you claim will be paid. Neither TurboTax nor the audit defense provider knows anything about your other financial situations.

Your tax return is only submitted when you click the big orange “transmit” button, it doesn’t happen without your command.

I paid for Audit Defense will completing my tax return and see the charge on my credit card but Turbo Tax software does not reflect it like it has in the past.

After you file, you should get a welcome email from the Audit Defense people with your subscriber number. If you don't, I would call Turbotax customer service. https://support.turbotax.intuit.com/contact/

If I have a home TURBOTAX DESKTOP HOME & BUSINESS TAX YEAR 2019, and purchase audit defense, does it cover all taxes I filed or I have to buy audit defense for each of the taxes that I'm filing?

If I file 2 feds, 1 business and 1 state for 2019, I only need to purchase it once and it will cover everything I filed in 2019?

@quinguyen11 One Audit Defense purchase will cover the federal return and all state returns that are filed for the same taxpayer as the federal return.

If you prepare and file another federal return for a different taxpayer, then another Audit Defense will need to be purchased.

No one here can see your account. You can check your online account and access your 2018 return to see what you were billed for, or you can try calling customer support. Use the keyword "billing issues" for help with account billing (to find out if you paid for audit defense.)

I am not able to sign up for Audit Defense with a foreign address. I am filing my tax filing with my foreign address, since I live and work abroad, but when signing up for audit defense, it does not allow a foreign address and says the address I type in must match the address on my tax filing.

I tried to pay for audit defense by CC and there it does not allow for foreign country to be selected, other than Canada. And when I try to pay by deducting from my return, it brings up my foreign address, but then also has a blank state field and my foreign address has no state, but it wont accept a blank state.
