Federal Tax return

I sent my tax return on Sunday with a result of a refund and is still showing pending, this could be due to the federal holiday that occurred on Monday and/or don't think they work on Sundays just taking a bit longer, but I have a coworker that entered his in Turbo tax and got his federal tax return accepted in about four hours later after transmitting his 1040 return. Could this be a problem?

The IRS does not operate on first in, first out. So it's not unusual to have someone get their return before you get yours or have their return accept before yours. If there is something wrong with your return, the IRS will most likely reject your return. You should be notified via email or text when your return is accepted. Please wait at least 24-48 hours after your return has been accepted by the IRS to check your status on www.irs.gov/refunds.
