Why is my turbo tax refund status not being updated?

Do not rely on the TurboTax website to determine when you are going to get your refund. Once you e-file or mail your return only the IRS has control over your refund.

Most Federal refunds are issued within 21 days of the return being accepted by the IRS (this is not based on when you filed). Please keep in mind that once you e-file or mail your return only the IRS has any control over it.

I have a similar issues. Today when I checked the “Where’s my refund” tool it no longer stated the acceptance part. Only this message “According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue refunds before mid-February for tax returns that claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. This applies to the entire refund, even the portion not associated with these credits.”

why am I getting this message and no longer the completion bar? Only difference I have this year is that I did them online with you guys while other years I go to tax preparers.

@jaquino91191 When the blue line/ bar is complete, it just means that the IRS has accepted your return. TurboTax gives estimates on your refund date based on the IRS 21 timeframe. For the most up to date information regarding your return you would want to check your status on the IRS Where’s My Federal Refund? site.
