You can receive text updates by adding your phone number to your personal profile in TurboTax.

Please follow these instructions:

Login to TurboTax and select Intuit Account (left navigation panel at bottom)
In Account Settings, select SECURITY (under PROFILE) (left side of screen)

In SECURITY, you can add or edit your information including your phone number.

Make sure you Turn on Two-step verification and verify your phone number with text message.

You can receive text updates by adding your phone number to your personal profile in TurboTax.

Please follow these instructions:

Sign into TurboTax, then select Take me to my return (orange button)
Select My Account (upper right of screen) and select Account Settings from dropdown menu
On left side of next screen, select SECURITY (under PROFILE)

At next screen, you can add or edit your information including your phone number.

Make sure you Turn on Two-step verification and verify your phone number with text message.

That should be a setting that your bank can allow for you, try using their online website or going in to an office to request it.

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.

TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS once they have accepted your return. You can track your refund with the IRS Where’s My Refund link https://www.irs.gov/refunds/.

The IRS issues more than 9 out of 10 refunds in less than 21 days. However, it’s possible your tax return may require additional review and take longer. Where’s My Refund? has the most up to date information available about your refund. The tool is updated daily so you don’t need to check more often.

It can take up to 5 business days for your bank to deposit your tax return into your account. If the status in Where’s My Refund? shows “Refund Sent”, the IRS has sent your tax refund to your bank for direct deposit. If you don't receive it in after 5 business days, then you should contact your bank.

You can use the link below to track your refund with the IRS though.

IRS refund status

Once your return has been filed, TurboTax does not have any access to the processing of your refund.

There are no alerts available to notify you when your IRS tax refund has been completed however, you can track your refund on the Where’s My Refund? site or download the IRS2Go app to check your refund status.

TT is not notified when your refund is issued.
