1099-g looked like it said unemployment but i never filed for it (but was unemployed for about a month when i moved) - the entirety of 2019 i was in Florida but this is dated to be from 2018 issued from ohio. i had entered it and it said that it wasn’t taxable and looked like it said i was getting it all back. however, when i thumb through the pages on here it doesn’t show me a single thing about the information i added or about the status of the refund on that

when i did my tax i entered my 1099-g and it showed me that i’d be getting back $105 because ohio couldn’t tax it, but on my submitted return it doesn’t show it at all? so i have to re enter it? and also, the florida return ?? doesn’t exist the information on the website is misleading and it said i have to mail stuff and i didn’t have a florida return to begin with and it’s stressing me out the florida return page should be entirely deleted and the 1099-g stuff should be showing up and i don’t know what to do ??

Where did you live in 2019?

Which state issued the 1099-G?

What is the 1099-G for? Tax refund? Unemployment? Family paid leave?

When you get a refund from a state for a previous year, TurboTax asks you some questions to determine if the state tax refund is taxable in the current year.

For example, if you use the Standard Deduction in the previous year, this means that you did not use this refund as a deduction in the previous year. So in this case, you don't report it as income in the current year.

By "you don't report it as income in the current year", I mean just that - you won't see any reference to this refund on your current year tax return, and that's OK
