topic Tax Refund for 2018 in After you file

So, I filed my taxes with TurboTax and was expected to receive a little over 4K, I noticed the direct deposit that I set up was drastically short. I go to look on the IRS website and it says the my refund amount is only 1K. Is there any reason at all that I am receiving a much smaller amount than what I was shown?

Did you owe taxes from a previous year? How about student loans? Had you defaulted on those? Child support? I believe these are all reasons your return could be reduced.
