If you have already e-filed or mailed in your return, you are not able to make any changes to your refund options. If your financial institution rejects the deposit, the government will mail your refund check.

@Carlise Simien Please view MichelleLO's post above. Once your tax return has been filed, you are unable to change the direct deposit information. If there is any issue the IRS will issue a paper check.
