Was my 2019 federal tax return e-filed?

I had to paper file my Illinois state tax return because I did not have my 2018 AGI available, but I believe my federal tax return was filed electronically. When I log into TurboTax, there's a message that says, "Your 2019 federal tax return was e-filed on" but there is no date. The date should be January 31, 2020. I also continue to receive email reminders from TurboTax that my "2019 tax return was not e-filed," but is this referring only to the state return (which I had to do on paper), or also my federal tax return?

I would try resetting your e-file status and see if the date appears. But, if you are showing a status, you should be good to go on your Federal return.

If you are receiving email reminders to file your taxes, yes this is most likely due to the State return being paper filed. This would be to remind you to mail them out.

I realized I made an error on my 2019 Federal tax return and tried to go and correct it but turbox tax would not let me...is that because it was already e-filed/

Once your return has been accepted, you will not be able to make any changes until after your refund has been processed. Amending your return means filing a new form, 1040X. This is only required in certain situations. In other situations, you can change your original return and you should not file a new form. Please click Do I need to amend? to learn more.

You should not try to amend your return until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund or your payment has cleared. Amended returns do not “catch up” to your original returns and replace them. They are processed as two separate returns. Please click How do I amend my 2019 TurboTax Online return? to learn more.

Did you go all the way through the File tab, through the 3 steps and hit the big orange Transmit Returns Now button?

Did you efile? Was it Accepted? You can check your efile status here

When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?

I hopefully filed my Taxes with turbo Taxes. but I don't know if it was filed
