topic Filing 2018 taxes in After you file

I did not file my 2018 taxes but I owed NC money. I was not aware that I could not file after October 15th or whatever date it was for e-file. I have successfully filed my 2019 taxes, and they were accepted. So my question is, do I still have to pay the money I owe to NC when I finally file my 2018 taxes? It seems they took their money from my refund this year, and I also paid TurboTax $59.98 last year as well but never filed. Also, do I have to pay $80 to pay for the TurboTax software just file my 2018 taxes?

Answers to questions, in order.

1. Do I still have to pay NC? Maybe, if NC reported the amount to the IRS and the IRS took the money, then no. If the IRS did not take the money, then yes, you need to pay. You can call either NC or the IRS to determine if the money was taken for NC. The IRS FMS/Treasury Offset Program number is 800-304-3107.

2. Paid Turbo Tax last year, do you have to pay for 2018 software? No, since you paid last year, you can go back into your account and select that you want to print your return. Sign and mail.

If you need to change your 2018 taxes, select AMEND and download the program to your computer, then make any necessary changes.
