topic On Schedule X Amended returns, is there a place to enter what I had already paid or been refunded? in After you file

This is regarding my CY2017 return. I had forgotten to enter my Fed & State Estimated taxes paid on my return, so I overpaid. The IRS noticed that a year later and automatically sent me a refund by including the Fed estimated taxes. Now, I am trying to do a Schedule X, because when I also input my State Estimated Taxes paid, it changes both my Fed return and CA state return. While doing the amended return, I do not see any place in TurboTax to enter how much I had paid, and how much was already refunded.
So do I just file the papers without that info and let IRS (and CA State) then figure out what was already paid so they can refund me the rest or is there a place to enter this data?

Look at the form 1040X …

Column A should have the figures from the original return, Column C the corrected figures and Column B the differences between the other 2 which needs an explanation on page 2 of the form 1040X.

If you completed it correctly you will see an entry on either line 16 OR 18:

On line 16 should be the amount you paid with your original return.

On line 18 should be the amount of your original refund you received.

Then you will see your extra refund on line 22 OR the new balance due you need to pay on line 20.
