Well, in the absence of a question, that can be a number of things. What is your question about a "prior tax return?" Are you asking how to find an online return you prepared in prior years? Or have you found it, but access is locked, and it's asking you to pay to download/print?

Or are you asking how to prepare a return for a prior year? Or something else?

How can I find a prior tax return if I used the free version of turbo tax? Will I be able to download it?

If you used the Free Edition you will need to find the return first by using the exact account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return. And you will need to purchase PLUS to gain access to the return. OR--a free transcript from the IRS might be all you need, depending on why you want the past return.

Note: Every year, before mid-October, print a copy of your current year tax return and save it as a tax file and pdf, too. That way you will have it when you need it for school, a loan, next year’s tax return, etc. without going through a lot of aggravation (and expense) to get it.
