I have the *.taxXXXX files from previous years. How do I open them?

You need each year's program installed to open a .tax file. Where did you get them? Did you use the Desktop CD/Download program or use the Online version?

if you can't reinstall the programs you can try to convert them to pdf files at

All returns done by the desktop cd

Did you get an answer? I have the same problem - trying to open .tax2012 file with the 2012 Turbotax installed from CD. I just get :Turbo Tax - Error""
