When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state. See screenshot

This will take you back to the 2018 online tax return.

On the left side of the screen click on Upgrade. Scroll down and select PLUS More Help & Tools. Click on Upgrade Now (if Plus is grayed out then you are already using Plus and only need to pay for the upgrade)

To pay the TurboTax online account fees by credit card so you can access your prior year online tax returns, click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. On the next page, to pay by credit card, click Pay Now. On the next screen just click on the Continue button. The next screen will show a review of your Fees, click on Continue. Complete the next screen to pay by credit card and click Continue.

Thank you! Unfortunately, mine does not say "add a state." Is there a reason why?

Are your 2018 and prior returns all in the same account? Are you looking under the correct tax year? The "Add a State" link is only present for a 2018 return. You have to use that link to open the 2018 return, upgrade the 2018 return to PLUS and pay the 19.99 to unlock prior returns. Are you looking for "Add a State" under the correct year (2018)?

If you don't find an "Add a State" link for 2018 on the Tax Home page or in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents" when you choose 2018, then what exactly do you see on your screen for 2018? Maybe you have multiple accounts and are in the wrong one. Do you see evidence of the 2018 and prior returns in that account?
