I received an audit letter from the IRS claiming I owe 4000 to them. I don't understand why cause I didn't make over the standard deduction and most of my income was a cash gift from my sister due to my health issues keeps me from working a 9-5. Can you help me with this issue?

For what year? Did you get any 1099Misc forms or 1099R? Did you have any loans that were cancelled? 1099C

You will have to ask the IRS what they are taxing you on.

1. Be sure what year the audit is covering. It might be for a past year when you had more income.
2. The letter should indicate why you owe money. What does it read?
3. Call them with any questions you have.
