To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

Was your 2016 return prepared with Online TurboTax? If so, log in to your account and look in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents." Choose tax year 2016, and look for a link to download/print the PDF. Do you find evidence of your return there OK, but when you try to download, does it ask you to pay? If that's your situation, we can tell you how to pay for your 2018 return in order to unlock the 2016 return. The method to unlock it depends on what all you have done with your 2018 return.

If you find no evidence at all of your 2016 online return in that account, we can tell you how to look for multiple accounts. A return prepared in desktop software (CD/download) will not be in an online account.

Have you filed a 2018 return in Online TurboTax, or is one still in preparation? Or did you file elsewhere?

Was the 2018 return prepared in Live Premier (that's what is indicated with your question above.)?

Is the 2018 return in the SAME account as the 2016 online return?

We can tell you how to unlock a return once you answer all the questions above.

yes it is asking my to upgrade and pay.

i did my 2018 tax already with turbo tax but on my husbands account and we are able to download all his old tax

The normal way to automatically unlock a previous return is to pay for the 2018 product in that same account. The minimum is usually Free Edition upgraded to PLUS at 19.99. We can tell you how if you go that route. You only have to start the 2018 return and pay immediately. You obviously don't have to prepare another 2018 return since you already filed one.

Or you can speak to Customer Support, and tell them what happened. I'm not sure what they will say. If you're lucky, they may just unlock the return for you.

When you go through the contact process below, be sure you do it from the paid account, i.e., the husband's account.

There's also a free option if a return transcript will suit your purpose. You may be able to immediately download one at the IRS website if you qualify to open an IRS account there. Otherwise, to order a transcript to come by postal mail takes 5-10 calendar days.
