To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

You can also get free transcripts of your federal return from the IRS - http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

If you have filed the 2017 tax return and need to upgrade and purchase Plus then use this procedure if the TurboTax support FAQ procedure is not working for you -

To upgrade to Plus after you have filed so you can access your prior year tax returns -

Access your current online tax return sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down and Click on Add a state

On the left side of the screen click on Upgrade. Scroll down and select PLUS More Help & Tools. Click on Upgrade Now (if Plus is grayed out then you are already using Plus and only need to pay for the upgrade)

To pay the TurboTax online account fees by credit card so you can access your prior year online tax returns, click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. On the next page, to pay by credit card, click Pay Now. On the next screen just click on the Continue button. The next screen will show a review of your Fees, click on Continue. Complete the next screen to pay by credit card.

Was your 2017 return prepared with Online TurboTax? If so, log in to your account and look in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents." Choose tax year 2017, and look for a link to download/print the PDF.

Or when you try to download, does it ask you to pay? If it was prepared in Free Edition last year, access will be locked. If that's your situation, we can tell you how to pay to unlock the 2017 return. The method to unlock it depends on what all you have done with your 2018 return. Normally one will need to upgrade a 2018 Free Edition return to PLUS and pay 19.99 by credit/debit card. We can list the steps to use.

If you find no evidence at all of your 2017 online return in that account, we can tell you how to look for multiple accounts.

A return prepared in desktop software (CD/download) will not be in an online account.

To unlock a prior online return, please answer the following about your 2018 return so we can provide steps for your situation:

Have you filed a 2018 return in Online TurboTax, or is one in preparation? Or did you file elsewhere?
Was the 2018 return prepared in Free Edition?
Is the 2018 return in the SAME account as the locked 2017 online return?

We can tell you how to pay to unlock a return once you answer all the questions above.

There's also a free option if a 2017 return transcript will suit your purpose. You may be able to immediately download a transcript at the IRS website if you qualify to open an IRS account there. Otherwise, to order a transcript from the IRS to come by postal mail takes 5-10 calendar days.
