There is no additional fee to amend a tax return originally prepared using TurboTax unless the amended return requires an upgrade to the version originally used.

Yes there is. Every year I've tried to file a free tax return to you guys I end up paying $59.79 $129. I just went on and tried to amend it there and it wanted me to upgrade and wouldn't let me do anything else. And I have a very easy tax return.

@Bumblebug "Easy" does not necessarily mean you have what TurboTax calls a "simple" return. If the data you enter requires certain forms or schedules you do not have a "simple" return and you have to upgrade to a paid version.

You can file with TurboTax Free Edition if you have a simple tax return.*

*A simple tax return is Form 1040 only.

Situations covered in TurboTax Free Edition include:

W-2 income
Limited interest and dividend income reported on a 1099-INT or 1099-DIV
Claiming the standard deduction
Earned Income Tax Credit (EIC)
Child tax credits
Student Loan Interest deduction

Situations not covered in TurboTax Free Edition include:

Itemized deductions
Unemployment income reported on a 1099-G
Business or 1099-NEC income
Stock sales
Rental property income
Credits, deductions and income reported on schedules 1-3

I am a senior with a low income i used the free one and paid 19.99 once and when I was told by your experts to refile because of a mistake done by the experts I was charge a few minutes for a second time

I filed both federal and PA State returns with TurboTax… TurboTax included RMDs in my State return as INCOME… PA does not tax RMDs as income… Both returns were accepted on 2/5/2022… A total of tax due to PA is $793… I would like amend this return… How do I submit an amended return(s)? Thank you…
