      <description>&lt;P&gt;There's no way for us to know for sure. &amp;nbsp;NY generally accepts the electronic report of your W-2 but they may sometimes want to verify this with hard copy. &amp;nbsp;The most common reason is that the employer did not report your wages to the state, or reported them late, or reported a different number than shown on the W-2.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
