So you prepared a Form 1040X, Amended Return? And hopefully, you printed, signed, and mailed it. An amended return cannot be efiled.

Approximately 3 weeks after mailing, you should be able to start tracking it at this IRS site:

It can take the IRS up to 16 weeks to process an amended return.
