Actually, any income you earned could affect your refund or balance due amount on your tax return. The IRS taxes individuals based on the amount of income earned, so if you earn more money you could be pushed into a higher tax bracket and have to pay more taxes on what you've made.

Also, if you did not have enough tax withheld from your paychecks to cover the amount of income you earned from your jobs, then you could possibly owe a balance due to the IRS.
