Most returns are being issued within twenty-one days or less. However, some cases can take longer. The IRS does not go by first in, first out. One thing in particular that is affecting filers this year is the PATH act. If you claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit, those refunds are not said to begin being issued until February 27th, 2018. You can see more information by reviewing the TurboTax FAQ below regarding the PATH act. If twenty-one days or more have elapsed and you are not claiming these credits, I would suggest you contact the IRS directly so they can investigate your case. You can call 1(800) 829-1040 to reach the general IRS line.

In the same boat it was saying on this app the 19th for me but here I sit twiddling my thumbs .

The IRS says they send refunds in 21 days for 9 out of 10 efiled returns. The date is an estimate, an educated guess, a rough idea. In other words, it should not be relied on. The IRS can not say how long that other 1 of the 10 will take. All you can do now is, wait. Wait for the pay off of your interest free loan to the government. Did you believe that the IRS is omnipotent, omnibenevolent and omniscient ?

The date on the TurboTax Tax Home website for the federal tax refund is only an estimate based on the IRS target of sending the refund within 21 days after receiving the tax return. That is a Target only and Not a Guarantee.
