topic Why does the my refund tool says my return was sent to my bank on the 23, but the turbo tax rep I spoke with says that that doesn't mean it was actually sent? in After you file

It's a little frustrating but why doesn't the IRS just wait until they actually send the deposit to update it as sent?

I did choose to pay my fees with the return which I assumed would delay it but the Turbo Tax rep who called me back said that it would not, but she wasn't very helpful, I felt like she was just rushing me to get off the line, so is it actually true that the IRS would update the status as sent even if it was not?, and is it true that having my fees taken from my return will not delay it's deposit?, and also, if it's being delayed to pay the fees, is there a way to find out the duration of the delay?

The IRS most likely did send out the payment. It goes to a bank, Santa Barbara Tax Group, and they take out the fees before sending it to your bank account. This process usually adds an extra two or three days, but as soon as SBTPG takes out the money, they will wire it over to your account.
